大学生ぐらいまでの学生にお勧めできるサーバとして、運営者自身が学生のサーバがあります。

長期運用とか、安定性とか、そういうのは二の次ですがw、ノリが近い者同士、ワイワイやるのが楽しいのではないかと思います。

大人にお勧めできるサーバとしては、私的にはビア鯖がイチオシです。運営者にも信頼感があります。

ビア鯖は🍺というぐらいでお酒が好きな人が多いですが、テーマの限定されていない汎用のサーバです。肩肘張らずに、適度な距離でコミュニケーションできていて、下ネタにも大人の節度があります。

技術者のサーバは、これが意外と難しい。管理者が飽きるのが早いのです。放置されていたり、手を入れすぎて破綻していたり、コミュニティに関心が薄かったり。

Qiitaのサーバもあって結構利用者がいるのですが、Mastodonのバージョンが非常に古いです。v2.3.3。もう2年以上前のままというありさまです。

安定して続いているのは、アプリ開発者や、インフラ系の管理者のサーバです。ひとつだけ紹介しておきます。

がく鯖、ほも鯖、たどり着いたものたちの住処なので、紹介の際になかなか挙げられないのだが、Mastodonの多様性ここにありといえる重要サーバである。

MastodonとMisskeyが、ともにFediverseを構成するサーバとして存在していることには、無限の価値がある。

FediverseはMastodonじゃないんだよ、Mastodonの思想とFediverseのあり方は同じじゃないんだよ、ということを、みんなに説明できる。

2月に書いた『マストドンを覚えていますか』の反応で、ちょいちょい見られたのが「マストドンという名前が良くない」というものでした。

Mastodonの中で口にする人は少ないかもしれませんが、一定数そのように考えている人がいるであろうことは認識しておいて良いかとおもいます。次の出発点になります。

Pawooがブランド名として良く認知されている、ということもありました。

Fedibirdも、ある意味そういう命名です。
