@quigs Actually, I just got a letter from Numeris with a toonie ($2 CAD coin) taped to the pamphlet thanking me for the survey and asking me to join their panel... Personally I don't like having a recorder listening to me though, so I wouldn't consider.

After years of promoting #Matrix , I finally decided to host #Synapse ... and then proceed to try to fix an appservice bridge to #Revolt et al. (see https://github.com/williamhorning/bolt/pull/46 )...

Setup is not that hard (using matrix-docker-ansible-deploy), the problem is how to keep it running... We'll see...

@g0ma_ I don't think GeoCities (and other similar free web hosting) is coming back (in both Japan and elsewhere), as personal domains and free/low-cost internet hosting have become more readily available to people. Still, it'd be nice to have that aesthetic back...

@Gersonzao @darkphoenix @digitalRightsNinja Metadata in messages remain the same: only text, attachments and mentions are encrypted, the rest is unencrypted (though there are MSCs being proposed for encrypting reactions and message relations, iirc). Regarding other metadata shared with identity servers, its usage was made opt-in (ie. not default) somewhen in 2021, and now it's practically obsolete.
