@osa_k コンテナ内のプロセスが知る必要のある情報をホスト側の(というかコンテナ内のプロセスも動かしてあげてる)Linuxカーネルから見せてあげるインターフェースなんだろうなあと想像してます
現代のLinuxコンテナ技術は昔からあったchroot (ファイルシステムのどこかのディレクトリがファイルシステムのルートに見える)の進化したもので、ファイルシステムだけではなくメモリやCPUとかネットワークとかユーザーとかのリソースもざっくり管理しやすくしたものなんだろうなあと雑に想像しています。
