The thing with the aircraft industry is that it may easily be the most demanding and technologically complex manufacturing industry that exists on the planet Earth. In this regard, it must be a particularly difficult field for a new industrial power to even enter, let alone to compete with the old industrial powers.

That is why geopolitics are fake btw. No one cares about that, at all. A politician will flush all the geopolitical considerations in the world down the toilet, all to score few more political points at home. Politics is all about seizing power at home, and then guarding it, again at home.
