I've been repeatedly asked, "Where's the Mastodon app?" even though I've provided links to the app in various places.
The lack of an official app makes it difficult to find an entry point for Mastodon and gain a competitive edge in the app store trend.
Existing apps mainly target existing users and do not provide better support for new users.
Functions provided as APIs and functions that can be handled from the WebUI are often not available in apps.
To create opportunities for competitive third party apps (with superior design and functionality) to gain users from the expanded pie (increased users) of official apps.
Provide open source and free reference apps.

@jordan31 This is my opinion, but there are many excellent open source apps such as SubwayTooter, Tusky, etc. for Android. On the other hand, apps for iOS are not enough. You should prioritize apps for iOS.
Also, Mastodon's app development team needs to focus on one task. If you can complete this project, you will be able to build on the results and create great apps for Android and Ubports.
I am a Collaborator in Mastodon and am involved in the development. We also develop and operate our own forks and activity relays.
I love Fediverse, which self-hosts services and connects with each other based on protocols, rather than existing platforms.
