SNSで生プルーンを食べた人の投稿を読んで、そういえば乾プルーンは週３くらい朝食にしているのに生プルーンは食べたことがないな、食べてみたいものだと思っていた。きのうスーパーで１パック498円→398円→【100円びき！】（のシール添付）と劇的に値下げされたプルーンを見かけたので、少しくらい傷んでいても構わないつもりで購入。家で開けてみたところ傷んでいるというわけでもなく、皮がちょっとシワシワしているだけだった。ネットで調べるとこれはむしろ熟してきた証拠で食べごろのしるしらしい。果肉の感じから想像するよりも酸味が少なく甘味が濃く感じられて美味しかった。きっと店頭ではあのシワシワが見栄えせず売れ残り扱いになっていたんだろう、もったいないけど私にはラッキーだったという話。
