In Montreal it seems that bus fareboxes will accept US #quarters as Canadian quarters - a loss - but seems like the coins' similarity does mean it happens the other way in the US, which means an arbitrage opportunity...
(All my OPUS cards have expired - death to that 4-year expiry - and I don't want to buy a new one just for a few trips...)
