Honestly I should make a litho stamp or something of my signature... though I question the legality of that in a sense; I mean, I am signing it with a signature that I identify with, but simply pressing it; is that not legal??

It is unfortunate that bandcamp fridays came from this model, but realistically isn't the root problem capitalism then?

I don't see any other way for someone to distribute their music, or movie, or tv show they made, in a way that would get them more money.

Itch.io for games, but Steam has the bigger footprint.

Vimeo for movie rentals, but Amazon and iTunes have bigger footprints

Vimeo/Nebula/Whatever else for TV shows or long format content, but then again nobody's selling DVDs or BluRays these days so nevermind 🙃

I do agree though that piracy is the result of lack of access to content. And that morally there is nothing wrong with it if the content is not available in an accessible DRM free format. In fact it's the thing I'm trying to fix for so so so many movies that are only on LaserDisc or VHS, but the license holders aren't interested in chatting with me (they don't reply to my emails...) > @ digidevault@mastodon.online

(Also on the note of the photo, like, yeah second hand sales don't benefit the original copyright holder etc anyway, so ... if there's no other legal way to acquire something, then really there isn't anything wrong morally or such speaking with pirating it...)
