Today, while attending a counter protest for trans rights and inclusive education in schools, SPVM was protecting the transphobes and charged us when we were pacifically protesting in the street. They pushed us and threw teargas at us, close enough that my flag burned. Our protest was never declared illegal nor did we have the time to leave peacefully before being attacked by the police. You know me, I''m not one to attend violent gatherings or to disobey the laws. They attacked the peaceful protesters while protecting the openly hateful one. To say how shocked I am! While he was the police chief in Longueuil, back in 2019, I got a certificate signed by the actual SPVM''s chief to thank me for the (unpaid) training on trans issues I gave to some of his staff. It was even in the news and all. Today, I was gazed at by his officers for peacefully trying to protect my basic human rights and my job as an educator on trans issues. If you still say I''m overreacting when I say we are going backwards, please take a moment to reconsider your stance. And go read actual ethical studies and research on trans issues!"
