というか、幼少期から家にあるビデオデッキやらを勝手に分解してじいちゃんに怒られてたし、小学6年生になってインターネットに接続できるようになると、Linux from Scratchに挑戦してたし、単純に「なんでもかんでも仕組みを知って、そして自分で構築しないと気が済まない性格」なんだろう

でもなぁ。データを適切にモデリングしてアルゴリズムを作りやすい形にするというセンスを身につけてもらわないと、地獄のセル結合乱発&メタデータ分離なし自然言語盛り沢山ｴｸｾﾙファイルみたいなものが一次情報源として出てくるデータベースなどが発生してしまうので……これはやっぱり基礎教養であってほしい

学校で学ぶのは将来学ぶときの予行練習だという考え方を見かけて、そういう考え方もあるなと思った。仮に学んだ内容を直接使う機会がなくとも、どのようにして何かを学ぶかを学んだことに意味がある、と。
とはいえ、学び方を学ぶことだけが重要だとなると教科書に何を書いてもいいことになり、いや内容にも意味があるよという話にはなるけれど……。
