@kotaro They are definitely useful to I would say very specific groups of people that want space savings, but overall they are a worse choice than even a miniATX or cube style PC desktop build.
It is much harder if not impossible to fix and replace parts in gaming laptops, whereas desktops are easier to upgrade.
I saw a few people in college who bought these insanely huge, heavy gaming laptops, as that was the recommendation for the course (why??? probably RAM/CPU related for virtualization). I got by with 8GB of RAM and an old HDD, thankfully running Linux as my host helped a lot.

@bobthebuster what model phone, version of android, version of OSMAnd? Did you use the one from F-Droid or the Play Store?
I've used OSMAnd to guide me literally all over Europe, Japan, and through daily life in Canada.
(With exception for most public transit by bus, or for more complicated cross-country rail travel; that goes to Google or the transit provider sadly, as they have more updated and accurate information)
