quite a shame that Optane failed like this, it was cool tech with value proposition that was just 2% short in everything

one of the HN comments mention how it was impossible to get samples from intel as a researcher working at big telco, and that reminded me of my professor constantly complaining how he couldn't get his hands on Optane unit (he was writing a paper about NVRAM data structures back then, unsure if it ended up getting published), so it seems like this was a common occurrence :/

but haven't apple banned similar apps before? i remember a chinese app similar to this about 8-10 years ago getting banned
