the best SSG is the "github-pages" Ruby gem imo.
the core of GitHub Pages (based on Jekyll).
likely the most used.

if i were to write HTML by hand, i'd have to copy this boilerplate over and over.
that's an option.

alternatively, i can use a static site generator (SSG).
