We are extremely proud of the work accomplished at in the Social Web group, culminating in 2018 in the release of the standard, a notable implementation of which is... !
We are also humbled and inspired by the energy that we are seeing on the Fediverse, the good will, how constructive and helpful discourse embodies truly social interactions.

We are starting to get questions about new social needs, or where the community of social web standard makers are.

They gathered in the Social Web Incubator community group a few years back.

(Unlike formally chartered work group, community groups are public, most are run by the community itself, and they are open to all like-minded individuals.)

Hello! 👋

We are a non-profit international community where since 1994 our Members, staff and the public design and develop standards for the underlying protocols of the web.

Our focus: interoperability, security, privacy, web accessibility, internationalization.

With your help and our proven standards process based on fairness, openness, royalty-free, we make the Web work, for everyone.

We regularly publish highlights from our many work groups.
