Q: Is my private key unique to the client downloaded on my computer or unique to my account?

A: If you created the key with Thunderbird, then initially your private key is stored only on that computer. The key is NOT automatically copied to other computers that use your account. But you are able to create a backup of your secret key, either in account settings or using the integrated #OpenPGP key manager.
