タイの憲法裁判所は7日、民主派の最大野党「前進党」に対し、去年の総選挙で、王室への中傷を禁じる不敬罪の改正を公約に掲げたことは国王を元首とする体制の転覆につながり得るものだとして解党を命じました。今後、若者など、支持者たちの反発が広がることも予想されます。
民主派政党「前進党」は去年5月の総選挙で王室への中傷を禁じる不敬罪の改正などを掲げて若者を中心に支持を集め第一党に躍進しました。
しかしその後、連立政権の枠組みから排除されて野党となり、ことし1月、憲法裁判所が不敬罪改正の公約は憲法に違反するという判断を示したのに続き、3月には選挙管理委員会が、国王を元首とする体制の転覆を図ったとして、前進党の解党を命じるよう、憲法裁判所に求めていました。
これを受けて審理を進めてきた憲法裁判所は7日「前進党には君主制を弱体化させる意図があり、それは国王を元首とする民主的な体制の転覆につながり得るものだ」などとして前進党の解党を命じました。
また、前の党首のピター氏など党の幹部について、10年間の政治活動の禁止を命じました。
