@halva @autumn @ipg Yes, Graphene did use some tricks/workarounds for getting better camera results without needing the explicitly Google camera apps.
There is also a community of folks that make modded Google Camera apps, which is what I'm using to make my Pixel 5 photos come out proper on LOS. Also helps with other non-Pixel/Google phones too.

@halva @autumn @ipg also, if you're on Google devices like the Pixel line of phones, you basically have to use Google Camera or modded versions, to actually get quality photos. The LOS / AOSP and other open source apps just do not provide a proper output, it's depressing...
(Thankfully you can use it without google play services installed, though there are some workarounds needed)
